The problem of pedagogical competencies was the incomprehensible language used in the questions and the low capability in mastering educating learning sub-competencies like the learning basis, the implementation, the learners’ characteristics, the achievement use, and the pedagogical development. The internal problem was the lack of motivation; the external problem was the lack of preparation in reading the materials. 3) The teachers solved the problems by updating their knowledge and utilizing the information technology, improving their competencies independently or participating in programs like MGMP continually, trying to answer carefully the UKG questions, managing to do the next test very well. 4) Tthe teachers’ expectations of UKG preparation were any improvement in socialization related to the material and the mental training, any additional time in the MGMP meetings discussing the course grids, any improvement in standard minimal achievement so that they will be motivated to improve their competencies and guru pembelajar program as the follow-up activity of UKG will be an effort to improve the teachers’ competencies and the low UKG achievement.
