PENGARUH KEAKTIFAN SISWA DALAM OSIS DAN PEMANFAATAN FASILITAS BELAJAR DI RUMAH TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA SMP NEGERI 4 GAMPING TAHUN AJARAN 2015/2016
Abstract
This study aims to investigate: (1) the effect of students’ active involvement in students council (OSIS) on their study achievement, (2) the effect of the students’ home learning facility use on their study achievement, and (3) the effect of both students’ active involvement in students council (OSIS) and students’ home learning facilities use on their study achievement.
The nature of this study was a cause-effect correlation research that employs quantitative approach. The subjects of study are 35 OSIS committees of SMP N 4 Gamping in the academic year 2015/2016. The data was collected using questionnaire and documentation. The questionnaire’s validity has been experimented by an expert judgment in which he is a lecturer in Social Science Education Department, Faculty of Social Science, Yogyakarta State University. The research follows several preliminary analysis tests as follows: Test of Normality, Test of Linearity, and Test of Multicolinearity. The hypothesis was tested using the single regression analysis technique & double regression analysis technique 2 predictor at the significance level 5%.
The findings showed : (1) the first Hypothesis was unaccepted so that there is no significant effect of students’ active involvement in students council (OSIS) (X1) on their study achievement. There is an assumption about the first hypothesis refusal that students’ over-active involvement in students council may misbehave their learning time. (2) the second hypothesis was accepted so that there is a significant effect of the students’ home learning facility use (X2) on their study achievement (Y). There is tendency in which the better the home facilities that the students got, the better the study achievement they got. The less students use the home learning facilities, the lower students achievement they got. (3) the third hypothesis was accepted so that there is a significant effect of students’ active involvement in students council (OSIS) and the students’ home learning facility use on their study achievement.
