Focus and Scope

SOCIAL STUDIES is published by the Department of Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Association of Social Sciences Education Department (APRIPSI) three times a year in March, June, and  November. SOCIAL STUDIES welcome and acknowledge original research papers about Social Sciences education written by researchers, academicians, professionals, and practitioners worldwide. The journal focuses on research about Social Science education including curriculum, social training and teaching, instructional media, and evaluation. The paper containing research on environmental education, moral education, and cultural and local wisdom education is also the focus of this journal.

Peer Review Process

The submitted manuscript is first reviewed by an editor. It will be evaluated in the office, whether it is suitable for SOCIAL STUDIES focus and scope or has a major methodological flaw and similarity score by using Turnitin. The manuscript will be sent to at least two reviewers (single blind peer review). Reviewers' comments are then sent to editor. The suggested decision will be evaluated in an editorial board meeting based on the reviewer’s recommendation from among several possibilities: rejected, require major revision, need minor revision, or accepted. Afterward, the editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
