Developing Academic Information System Web-Based at SMA Negeri 1 Banjarharjo

Abstract


The purpose of research are to: 1) develop and make academic information system application that corresponds to the needs of teacher and student at SMA Negeri 1 Banjarharjo and 2) provide the informations of software quality level developed using the ISO-9126 standard. The methods used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) and Waterfall development model, that are 1) the analysis of needs, 2) design, 3) implementation, and 4) testing. Testing performed using the ISO-9126 standard consisting of 1) functionality, 2) reliability, 3) usability, 4) efficiency, 5) portability, and 6) maintainability. Functionality aspect was tested by a developer, a lecturer and an informatics teacher. Reliability aspect was tested with WAPT measuring instrument. Usability aspect was tested with USE Questionare developed by Arnold Lund with 23 respondents. Efficiency aspect was tested with YSlow measuring instrument. Portability aspect was tested with browser measuring instrument. Maintainability aspect was tested with calculating the value of MI (maintainability index) with the assist from Source Code SearchEngine. The results of this research are: 1) Web-Based Academic Information System at SMAN 1 Banjarharjo was developed with PHP and CSS based on Waterfall development model. The functions of this system are: process student data, teacher data, lessons data, classes data, groups data, and assessment reports in school academic activities; and 2) The result of software test developed with PHP and MySQL obtains the functionality result 1 (Good), reliability test obtain 99.15% (Good), usability test obtain 82.8%, efficiency test obtain 93% with YSlow (Grade A). Portability test, the developed software can run on 3 (three) popular browsers (filled).
