EFEKTIVITAS METODE GILLINGHAM TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN SISWA TUNADAKSA KELAS III SDLB NEGERI 1 BANTUL

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode Gillingham terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa tunadaksa kelas III SD bagian D di SLB Negeri 1 Bantul. Pendekatan eksperimen yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain A1(Baseline-1)–B(Intervensi)–A2(Baseline-2). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis data dalam kondisi dan analisis data antar kondisi. Metode Gillingham berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan didukung oleh presentase overlap yang rendah yaitu 0% dan meningkatnya mean level subjek pada setiap fasenya, yaitu pada fase baseline-1 adalah 42.5, pada fase intervensi meningkat menjadi 47.5, dan pada fase baseline-2 kembali meningkat menjadi 68.75. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah metode Gillingham efektif terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan pada siswa tunadaksa.

Abstract
The research aimed to know effectiveness of Gillingham method for early reading ability of student with physical disability at 3rd grade elementary school part D of SLB Negeri 1 Bantul. The approach of the study is quantitative with experimental study. Experimental study which is being used is Single Subject Research (SSR) approach. The research design used A1(Baseline-1)–B(Intervention)–A2(Baseline-2) design. The collection of data carried out by observation, interview, and test. Data analysis which used were analysis of the conditions and inter-conditions. Gillingham method is effective to early reading ability on subject, that supported by low overlap percentage is 0% and increased mean levels in every phase, on baseline-1 phase was 42.5, then increased on intervention phase to 47.5, and mean level on baseline-2 phase increased again to 68.75. The conclusion of this research is Gillingham method is effective to early reading ability on student with physical disability.
