MODIFIKASI PENGGUNAAN LASER DISTANCE METER UNTUK MENGUKUR HASIL LOMPAT JAUH DAN LOMPAT JANGKIT

Sports equipment innovation in athletics is needed to advance this sport. This research is
aimed to develop a device to measure the results of long jump and triple jump in athletics based
on laser distance meter.
This research was a developmental research. The research was conducted through the
following steps: a needs analysis, planning, and initial products development validated by
subject matter and media experts. Furthermore, the tool was tested in the field, and the
researcher also did revision, field trials, and product revision. The data collection techniques
were using a manual metering device, a laser distance meter, and other devices. The data were
in the form of products quality, and suggestion and revision were analyzed qualitatively.
Based on the results and discussion of the research, it can be concluded that: (1) the
Development of the Use of Laser Distance Modification is created using several devices: (a) a
tripod as a device for the laser placement used to aim the laser beam and to stabilize its
direction, (b) an aluminum ruler to align the laser distance meter with the repulsion board, (c) a
simplified board to help reading the distance of the laser beam; and (2) in terms of the device
work system and the device resilience, the product is proper to use.
