Abstract
ABSTRACT This research aims to know the influence of sprint training with passing down interval toward the increased speed at athletes of volleyball. The benefits of this research are to provide understanding and knowledge about exercise models that can integrate various variables or components of exercise in a workout session. The research method used in this research was in the form of experimental research design with "one group pretest-posttest design". The population in this research is the female volleyball athletes at Yuso, Yogyakarta. Sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique with the criteria such as (1) female volleyball athlete at Yuso Yogyakarta, (2) 11-14 years old, (3) and having followed the training for 6 months. There were 24 students who fulfilled the criteria. The instrument used in this research was a sprint running test in 50 yards (45.72 meters). Data were analyzed quantitatively using t-test. The results showed that there was the influence of sprint training with passing down interval toward the speed of female volleyball athletes at Yuso Yogyakarta in the age of 11-14 years. It is proved by: (1) t-test that has a value of 2,982 as tcount > 1,714 as ttable, and value t (Sig) 0.007 < (p). Thus, it can be concluded that the exercise model of activating the passing down recovery can increase the speed of volleyball athletes in the 11-14 years of age at Yuso Yogyakarta.
