PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERCERITA MELALUI METODE MIND MAP SISWA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bercerita melalui metode mind map siswa kelas V SD Negeri Golo Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Kolaboratif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD dengan jumlah 37 siswa. Desain penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan bercerita, dapat ditingkatkan melalui metode mind map. Peningkatan terjadi pada: (1) proses pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan ke arah yang lebih baik di setiap siklus, yaitu meningkatnya motivasi, perhatian, dan keaktifan siswa dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran, pada siklus I pencapaian yang diperoleh siswa adalah 66% meningkat menjadi 76% pada siklus II, (2) hasil keterampilan siswa dalam bercerita mengalami peningkatan. Hasil rata-rata nilai keterampilan bercerita siswa pada pra siklus adalah 55,92, pada siklus I menjadi 63,73, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 71,68. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode mind map dapat meningkatkan keterampilan bercerita siswa kelas V.

Abstract

This study aim to improve the skills of story telling through the use of mind mapping method of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Golo Yogyakarta. The type of research was collaborative action research. The subjects were students of fifth grade with 37 students in total. The research was designed using the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model. The Data collection techniques used tests, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the story telling skills can be improve through the use of mind map method. The improvement occurr in: (1) the learning process which is getting better in each cycle that included the improvement on the students’ motivation, attention, and creativity during the learning process. In the first cycle, the achievements of the students is 66% and it is increase to 76% in second cyvle, (2) the results of the student's story telling skills The mean of the students’ story telling scores before the implementation of the actions is 55.92. In the first cycle it is increase to 63.73, and in the second cycle it is increased to 71.68. Thus, the use of mind mapping method can improve the story telling skills of fitth grade student.
