MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS KARANGAN DESKRIPSI MELALUI PENDEKATAN CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING KELAS V SDN BANYUMENENG

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui
pendekatan CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) pada siswa kelas V SDN Banyumeneng Giriharjo
Panggang Gunungkidul Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang
dilakukan secara kolaboratif dengan guru kelas. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan model Kemmis &
McTaggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan & observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian
meliputi siswa kelas V SDN Banyumeneng, pada semester I tahun ajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 19
siswa. Objek penelitian adalah keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui metode CTL. Teknik
pengumpulan data melalui tes dan observasi. Data hasil penelitian ini dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif
kualitatif untuk menganalisis hasil observasi, deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menganalisis hasil penilaian
menulis karangan deskripsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis karangan
deskripsi meningkat setelah diberi tindakan melalui metode CTL. Nilai rata-rata tes menulis karangan
deskripsi pada pra siklus sebesar 57,88 meningkat menjadi 69,35 pada siklus I, kemudian pada siklus II
meningkat menjadi 81,47. Pada siklus I nilai tes menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas V SDN
Banyumeneng nampak suatu perbedaan dengan hasil pra siklus. Dari 17 siswa hanya 7 siswa saja
(41,18%) yang mendapat nilai sesuai KKM pada pra siklus. Kemudian setelah tindakan siklus I
meningkat menjadi 12 siswa (70,58%) yang mendapat nilai sesuai KKM. Setelah tindakan siklus II siswa
yang mendapat nilai sesuai dengan KKM mengalami peningkatan lagi menjadi 17 siswa (100%).
Penggunaan metode CTL pada siklus II persentase keberhasilannya sudah mencapai >75% sehingga
proses pembelajaran menggunakan metode CTL berhasil.

Abstract
This research aims to improve writing skills through a description of a wreath CTL ( contextual
teaching and learning) approach in students of the class V SDN Banyumeneng Giriharjo Panggang
Gunungkidul . This research is classroom action research conducted in a collaborative with class
teachers. The design of this study using kemmis & mctaggart model consisting of planning , the
implementation, observation , and reflection .The subject of research include students of SDN
Banyumeneng class v , in the first semester of the academic year 2014 and 2015 which totaled 19 students
.The object of research is to improve writing skills through a method of CTL a wreath of description
.Data collection techniques through tests and observation .Data analyzed by the results of this research
techniques to analyze qualitative descriptive and quantitative observations , quantitative assessment to
analyse the results of descriptive writing a wreath of description . The results of research shows that the
skill of writing a wreath of a description of increased after given action through a method of CTL. Test
average value of writing a wreath on a description of the cycle of pre 57,88 increased to 69,35 in the first 

cycle , then in the second cycle 81,47 increased to. First cycle on test scores of writing a wreath of a
description of students class v SDN Banyumeneng seem a difference with the results of the pre cycle. 17
students were only seven students only ( 41,18 % ) get value in accordance with KKM of pre cycle. Then
after the act of the first cycle rose to 12 students ( 70,58 % ) got KKM value in accordance .After the act
of the second cycle students who get value in accordance with KKM increased again to 17 students
(100%). The use of a method of CTL in the second cycle of the percentage of his success has reached
>75% that the process of learning using the method successfully CTL
