HUBUNGAN MINAT BACA DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR IPS SISWA KELAS V SD GUGUS III SEYEGAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara minat baca dengan prestasi belajar IPS pada siswa kelas V SD se-Gugus III Seyegan Sleman tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD dengan jumlah 178 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling kuota dengan jumlah sampel 125 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket, dan studi dokumenter. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah korelasi sederhana dengan korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan harga koefisien korelasi rhitung (0,311) > rtabel (0,176) pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan jumlah N=125. Harga koefisien korelasi tersebut mengindikasikan adanya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara minat baca dengan prestasi belajar IPS. Hal ini memiliki arti bahwa setiap kenaikan variabel minat baca akan mempengaruhi kenaikan variabel prestasi belajar IPS.

Abstract

This research aims to know about a positive and significant correlations between interest in read with social studies learning achievements of 5th grade students of elemantary school in Cluster 3 Seyegan Subdistrict, Sleman academic year 2014 / 2015. This research was used quantitative approach. The kind of this research is correlational. The population in this research are 5th grade students of elemantary school, totally are 178 people. Technique of sample collection was used of sampling quota with totally are 125 students. Technique of data collection in this research was used questioner, and study documentary. Technique of data analysis was used simple correlation with correlation pearson product moment. The results of the hypotheses test showing the price of a correlation coefficient r value ( 0,311 ) > r table ( 0,176 ) at significance 5 % with totally N = 125.  The price of a correlation coefficient indicated the positive and significant correlation between interest in read with social study learning achievements. This means that the increase at variable of interest in read will affect the increase at variable of social studies learning achievements.
