PERTIMBANGAN ORANG TUA TIDAK MEMILIH SD NEGERI MENTARI: PENELITIAN STUDI KASUS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pertimbangan orang tua tidak memilih SD Negeri Mentari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertimbangan orang tua tidak memilih SD Negeri Mentari disebabkan lima hal, yakni karena (1) lokasi dan lingkungan sekolah, di mana lokasi sekolah meliputi letak geografis sekolah yang berdekatan dengan jalan raya dan wilayah zonasi sekolah yang sama dengan tiga SD lain, sedangkan lingkungan sekolah meliputi orang tua yang tinggal di sekitar sekolah lebih memilih SD lain daripada SD Negeri Mentari; (2) kekurangan fasilitas seperti kurangnya lahan parkir, gudang penyimpanan, dan alat-alat penunjang ekstrakurikuler; (3) stigma guru terdahulu oleh orang tua dalam hal kemampuan mengajar dan sikap pilih kasih antar siswa; (4) tidak adanya petugas penyeberang jalan di sekitar sekolah sehingga menyebabkan keamanan sekolah belum terjamin; dan (5) kurangnya kegiatan ekstrakurikuler kesenian dan keterampilan.

Abstract
The research aims at knowing the considerations of parents not choosing Mentari state SD. This research was qualitative research. Interview, observation and documentation were used as the techniques of collecting data. Miles and Huberman model were used as the analysis of data which includes reduction, presentation, and verification of data. The result shows that there are five factors of the issues, (1) location and environment of the school, where location of the school include geographical location that was close to the main street and zoning area which similar as three other school, while school environment involved parents who live near the school prefer other SD school than Mentari State SD; (2) poorness of facility such as parking ground, warehouse, and extracurricular supporting equipment; (3) teachers stigma by parents in terms of teaching ability and partial attitude among students; (4) didn’t have crossing officers so that the security of the school is not guaranteed; and (5) lack of extracurricular activities of arts and skills.
