PARTISIPASI ORANG TUA SISWA LAMBAN BELAJAR (SLOW LEARNER) DI KELAS II SD NEGERI MARGOSARI PENGASIH

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan partisipasi orang tua siswa lamban belajar (slow learner) di kelas II SD Negeri Margosari, Pengasih. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi orang tua siswa lamban belajar, siswa lamban belajar, dan guru kelas. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data melalui kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi orang tua dalam menyiapkan anak sesuai tahap perkembangannya diwujudkan dengan cara memberi nasehat, hukuman, dan pujian agar anak menjadi pribadi yang jujur, berani, disiplin, mandiri, dan percaya diri. Sedangkan, partisipasi dalam mengoptimalkan potensi anak diwujudkan dengan cara 1) mengikutsertakan anak pada kegiatan luar sekolah, berupa les renang, bimbingan belajar privat, dan TPA; 2) membimbing kesulitan belajar anak di rumah; 3) mendiskusikan hambatan belajar anak dengan guru kelas, pelatih renang, dan guru bimbingan belajarnya; dan 4) menyediakan berbagai fasilitas pendidikan di rumah.

Abstract

This research aims at describing the participation of slow learner’s parents in second grade SD Negeri Margosari, Pengasih. This research design was descriptive qualitative research. Subject of this research were slow learner’s parents, a slow learner’s student, and a class teacher. Data collection used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity used triangulation sources and techniques. The results show that parental participation in preparing children according to their developmental stages is realized by giving advice, punishment, and praise so that childiren become honest, courageous, disciplined, independent, and confident persons. Meanwhile, participation in optimizing children's potential is realized by means of 1) involving children in activities outside the school, such as swimming lessons, private tutoring, and Al-Quran learning center (Taman Pendidikan Al-Quran) ; 2) guiding children's learning difficulties at home; 3) discussing children's learning barriers with the class teachers, swimming trainers, and tutors; and 4) providing various educational facilities at home.
