PENANAMAN KARAKTER GEMAR MEMBACA DI SDIT AL KHAIRAAT

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan memaknai (1) penanaman karakter gemar membaca dan (2) faktor pendukung dan penghambat penanaman karakter gemar membaca. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, guru, petugas perpustakaan, siswa, dan orangtua. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) penanaman karakter gemar membaca di SDIT Al Khairaat dilaksanakan melalui penerimaan, partisipasi, penillaian, organisasi, dan pembentukan pola hidup dilaksanakan dengan beberapa kegiatan seperti menyediakan waktu khusus membaca, menyediakan fasilitas yang mendukung dan memadai, mengadakan program atau kegiatan yang menanamkan kegemaran membaca, memberikan keteladanan, dan memberikan kebebasan pada siswa untuk membaca sesuai keinginan. (2) Faktor pendukung penanaman karakter gemar membaca di SDIT AL Khairaat antara lain ketersediaan fasilitas, peran guru, dan peran orang tua. Faktor penghambat penanaman karakter gemar membaca di SDIT Al Khairaat antara lain ketersediaan buku masih kurang, kondisi ruangan perpustakaan kurang memadai dan pengaruh televisi maupun gadget.

Abstract
This research aims at describing and interpreting how to (1) build character in reading habit and (2) factors which influence that character building in reading habits at SDIT Al Khairaat. This research used a case study with qualitative method who the subjects are headmaster, teachers, librarian, student, and student’s parent. Data collection technique used observation, interview, and documentation. Analysis data techniques of this paper include data collection, data condensation, data presentation, also conclusion making. Triangulation technique is used as validity test. The research result show that (1) character building in reading habits at SDIT Al Kahiraat was held through by receiving, responding, valuing, organization, and characterization by a value implemented in many activities like give the students time to read, provide facilities to support students, give more examples and freedom to read as free as they want. (2) Factors that support character building in reading habits at SDIT Al Khairaat are facility availability, the role of the teachers, also the role of the student’s parent. The obstacle factors of character building in reading habits at SDIT Al Khairaat is limitation of the books, inadequate or less comfortable library, and there’s another external factor comes from gadget and television that.
