PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS V MELALUI METODE COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED METHODS READING COMPOSITION (CIRC) DI SD NEGERI SARIHARJO NGAGLIK SLEMAN

PPenelian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan proses dan hasil pembelajaran membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V di SD Negeri Sariharjo Ngaglik Sleman melalui metode CIRC. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan kelas (PTK).  Teknik pengumpulan data  pada penelitian ini adalah observasi dan tes yang dianalsis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif dan kuatintatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penerapan metode CIRC dapat meningkatkan keterampilan dan proses belajar membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V SD Negeri Sariharjo Ngaglik Sleman. Peningkatan proses pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari kondisi siswa yang awalnya pasif dan kurang bersemangat nampak lebih aktif dan antusias dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil tes membaca pemahaman sebagai peningkatan hasil pembelajaran terbukti melalui pencapaian kriteria nilai membaca kelas yakni 70 terus bertambah mulai hasil pratindakan (29,16%), siklus I (54,16%), dan siklus II (87,5%). Siklus II presentase ketuntasan belajar siswa menunjukkan 87,5% dan melampaui target penelitian yakni 75%. Perbaikan dilakukan dengan menambah motivasi melalui cerita dan perumpamaan, pengumuman nilai, penghargaan bagi tiga kelompok terbaik, dan pengulasan soal tes siklus sebelumnya agar tes pada siklus selanjutnya lebih optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process and learning outcomes of reading comprehension in fifth grade
students of SD Negeri Sariharjo Ngaglik Sleman through the CIRC method. This research was Classroom Action
Research (CAR). Data collection techniques in this study were observations and tests analyzed by using descriptive
and quantitative techniques. The results of the study showed that the application of the CIRC method could improve
the reading skills and learning process of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Sariharjo Ngaglik Sleman. The
improvement of the learning process could be seen from the condition of students who were initially passive and
lacking in enthusiasm who appeaered more active and enthusiastic in learning activities. The results of the reading
comprehension test as an increase in learning outcomes were proved through the achievement of the class reading
value criteria of 70 which continued to increase starting from the pre-action results (29.16%), the first cycle
(54.16%), and the second cycle (87.5%). The second cycle of student learning completeness percentage showed
87.5% and exceeded the research target of 75%. Improvements were made by adding motivation through told
some stories and parables, announced values, gave awards for the three best groups, and reviewed previous cycle
test questions so that the tests in the next cycle were more optimal.
