PENINGKATAN MOTIVASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR KOGNITIF MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT pada pembelajaran tematik siswa kelas V SD 1 Sekarsuli, Banguntapan, Bantul Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD 1 Sekarsuli sebanyak 15 siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, skala motivasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada pembelajaran tematik. Kriteria keberhasilan penelitian yaitu apabila rata-rata skor motivasi belajar siswa mencapai ≥66, yang termasuk dalam kategori baik dan apabila  rata-rata nilai hasil belajar kognitif siswa telah mencapai KKM yang ditentukan sekolah yaitu ≥70. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor motivasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari prasiklus 59,47, siklus I 68,68, siklus II 71,89 dengan persentase siswa tuntas sebesar 80%. Selanjutnya, rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa juga mengalami peningkatan  dari prasiklus 52,93, siklus I 67,20, siklus II 80,67 dengan persentas siswa yang lulus KKM sebesar 86,67%. Persentase keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT pada siklus I yaitu 85,29% dan pada siklus II yaitu 100%.

Abstract

This research aims at improving learning motivation and cognitive outcomes of students in thematic learning through cooperative learning numbered heads together type (NHT) in fifth grade students of 1 Sekarsuli elementary school.  The type of this research was Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this research were fifth grade students of 1 Sekarsuli elementary school. The research design used for this research was Kemmis and Mc Taggart’s model. Data collection technique was observation, motivation scale, and test. The results show that cooperative learning numbered heads together type (NHT) can improve learning motivation and cognitive outcomes of students in thematic learning. The success criteria for learning motivation is the average score of learning motivation can reach ≥66 that is include in good criteria, and the success criteria for learning cognitive outcomes is the average value of cognitive outcomes can reach the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) that has been established by the school ≥70. The results of this research shows that average score of learning motivation improved from pre cycle 59,47, first cycle 68,68, and second cycle 71,89. Furthermore, average of cognitive outcomes also improved from pre cycle 52,93, first cycle 67,20, and second cycle 80,67. Percentage of using cooperative learning numbered heads together type (NHT) in first cycle is 85,29% and in second cycle is 100%.
