PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN SOSIAL SISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINS TEKNOLOGI MASYARAKAT

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa melalui penerapan pendekatan sains teknologi masyarakat. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa SD kelas IV.Teknik analisis data adalah deskriptif kuantiatif dan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknikobservasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pada hasil observasi pada keterampilan sosial aspek teacher preferred social behavior dan aspek school adjustment behavior. Nilai yang sering muncul (modus) pada pra-tindakan yaitu 2 atau kriteria cukup (C), kemudian pada akhir siklus I nilai yang sering muncul meningkat menjadi 3 atau kriteria baik (B), dan pada akhir siklus II nilai yang sering muncul menjadi 4 atau kriteria sangat baik (A).

Abstract
This study aims at improving the student’s social skill through Science Technology, and Society (STS) implementation at State Elementary School of Surokarsan 2 Yogyakarta. The type of this study was Classroom Action Research. The students in 4th grade of State Elementary School of Surokarsan 2 Yogyakarta as the subject of the study. Data analysis techniques that used in this study were descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The data was collected by observation. This result of this study shown that the implementation of Science Technology, and Society can improve a social skill in observation results on aspect teacher preferred social behavior and aspect school adjustment behavior. The result shown values than often appear in the pre-action 2 or enough criteria (C), then reached 3 or good criteria (B) in cycle I and improved to 4 or very good criteria (A) in cycle II.
