PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA MELALUI METODE SOSIODRAMA PADA SISWA KELAS IV SD NEGERI 2 WATES KULON PROGO

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran berbicara  dan meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara melalui metode sosiodrama pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Wates. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas kolaboratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode sosiodrama dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Wates. Peningkatan proses ditunjukkan dengan siswa yang menjadi lebih antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, siswa aktif dan antusias dalam proses pembelajaran terutama pada aspek berbicara. Hal lain yang menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa adalah adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata kelas. Pada tes pratindakan nilai rata-rata keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV adalah 68,35, kemudian pada siklus I meningkat sebesar 2,55 menjadi 70,90, dan meningkat lagi pada siklus II sebesar 6,77 menjadi 77,67. Nilai rata-rata kelas pada siklus II jika dibandingkan dengan pratindakan meningkat sebesar 9,25, yang sebelumnya 68,35 menjadi 77,67.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the effectiveness of speaking learning process and speaking skill through sociodrama method of fourth grade students in SD Negeri 2 Wates. This research was a collaborative classroom action research. The result of the research shows that the implementation of sociodrama method can improve fourth grade students’ speaking ability in SD Negeri 2 Wates. It is proved by the students’ enthusiasm in teaching-learning process. The students became more active and enthusiastic especially in speaking skill aspect. Other result showed that the development of speaking skill affected the final class average score. From the pre-test result on the first cycle, the speaking skill average score increased by 2.55 points. It increased from 68.35 to 70.90. Furthermore, it increased again on the second cycle by 6.77 points from 70.90 to 77.67. The total difference class average score from pre-test until the second cycle is 9.25. It increased from 68.35 to 77.67.
