PENINGKATAN CRITICAL THINKING SKILL SISWA MELALUI MODEL PBL PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA KELAS VA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada mata pelajaran IPA siswa kelas VA SD N Ngoto, Bantul tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) mengacu model spiral dari Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VA SD Negeri Ngoto, Bantul yang berjumlah 24 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif dan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran problem based  learning dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VA SD Negeri Ngoto. Hasil tes keterampilan berpikir kritis pra siklus rata-rata 55,1 dengan ketuntasan 25% (6 siswa) meningkat pada siklus I menjadi 65,31 dengan ketuntasan 41% (10 siswa). Rata-rata kelas pada siklus II adalah 77,6 dengan persentase ketuntasan mencapai 75% (sudah mencapai kriteria minimal).

Abstract

This research aims at improving critical thinking skill students in science of VA class SD Negeri Ngoto, Bantul by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model for the academic year 2017/2018. This research was a classroom action research which refered to spiral model from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subjects of this research were 24 students of VA class SD Negeri Ngoto, Bantul. The data were collected by observation and test. Technique of the data analysis were quantitative and qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results of this research shows that PBL model can improve critical thinking skill students in science. The average of critical thinking skill students  in pre cycle was 55,1 increased at first cycle became 65,3. The average of critical thinking skill students  in second cycle was 77,6 with percentage of completeness was 75% (has reached the minimal criteria).
