HUBUNGAN MINAT MEMBACA DENGAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS KARANGAN PADA SISWA KELAS V SDN JARAKAN KECAMATAN SEWON KABUPATEN BANTUL

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan minat membaca dengan kemampuan menulis karangan pada siswa kelas V SDN Jarakan Kecamatan Sewon Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SDN Jarakan Kecamatan Sewon Kabupaten Bantul yang berjumlah 91 siswa. Jumlah sampel diambil secara
random sebanyak 50 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji regresi sederhana, sebelumnya dilakukan uji asumsi meliputi uji normalitas dan uji linearitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan deskripsi data dari masing-masing variabel sebagai berikut. Variabel minat membaca skor terendah 79, skor tertinggi 129, mean 100,86, median 103,00, mode 99, standar deviasi 11,221 dan variance 125,919. Sedangkan deskripsi data variabel kemampuan menulis karangan adalah skor terendah 67, skor tertinggi 90, mean 76,24, median 77,0, mode 80, standar deviasi 5,520 dan varian 30,472. Berdasarkan deskripsi data hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat membaca berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan dengan sumbangan sebesar 9,9%.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the reading interest and the composition writing ability among Grade V students of SDN Jarakan, Sewon District, Bantul Regency. The study employed the quantitative approach. The research population comprised all students of Grade V students of SDN Jarakan, Sewon District, Bantul Regency, with a total of 91 students. The sample, consisting of 50 students, was randomly selected. The data were collected through a questionnaire and documentation. The data analysis, technique in the study was simple regression. Prior to the analysis, assumption tests, consisting of tests of normality and linearity, were conducted.The results of the study showed the description of the data from each variable as follows. For the reading interest variable, the lowest score was 79, the highest score was 129, the mean was 100.86, the median was 103.00, the mode was 99, the standard devition was 11.221, and the variance was 125.919. Meanwhile, regarding the description of the data from the writing ability variable, the lowest score was 67, the highest score was 90, the mean was 76.24, the median was 77.0, the mode was 80, the standard devition was 5.520, and the variance was 30,472. The description of the data of the research results showed that the reading interest had a significant positive effect on the composition writing ability with a contribution of 9,9%.
