PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI IPA SISWA KELAS III MELALUI METODE GUIDED DISCOVERY DI SDN KEJAMBON 1

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi IPA melalui metode Guided Discovery pada siswa kelas III SDN Kejambon 1. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SDN Kejambon 1 Sleman yang berjumlah 28 siswa. Objek penelitian ini adalah peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi IPA siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilaksanakan dengan deskriptif . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode Guided Discovery dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi IPA siswa kelas III SDN Kejambon 1. Peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi IPA siswa ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan presentase keterampilan komunikasi IPA siswa. Pada pra siklus sebesar 59,91% yang berada pada kategori kurang. Pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 70,44% berada pada kategori cukup. Dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 90,17% berada pada kategori baik. Penelitian ini dihentikan sampai siklus II karena persentase keterampilan komunikasi IPA telah memnuhi kriteria yang ditentukan yaitu sudah mencapai kategori baik.

Abstract

This research was aimed to improve the science communication skills through Guided Discovery method on third grade student of SDN Kejambon 1. This research based on class act by Kemmis and Mc Taggart models. The subject of the research were the 28 third graders of SDN Kejambon 1. The object of the research was the improving of the students science communication skills. The technique of collecting the data was carried by observation and documentation. The technique of analyzing the data was descriptive. The result of the research showed that the applying of the Guided Dicovery method could improve the science communication skills of the third graders of SDN Kejambon 1. The improvement of the students’s science communication skills was seen through the improvement on the percentage of the students’s science communication skills. It was 59.91% on the pre-stage which was at a low category. On the first stage, it improved into 70.44% which was at a standard category. On the second stage, it improved into 90.17% which was at a good category. The research stopped at the second stage because the percentage of the students science communication skills had fulfilled the determined criteria which had reached the good category.
