PENGGUNAAN METODE PROBLEM SOLVING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI MAPEL IPS KELAS IV SD KARANGGONDANG

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ketrampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa kelas IV pada mata pelajaran IPS, tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan menerapkan metode Problem Solving. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemis dan Mc. Taggart, dengan subjek tindakan yaitu siswa - siswi kelas IV SD Karanggondang yang berjumlah 35 siswa dan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah ketrampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPS menggunakan metode problem solving dapat meningkatkan ketrampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa kelas IV SD Karanggondang hal ini dapat dilihat baik dari proses pelaksanaan maupun hasil tes yang diberikan berikut presentase peningkatan pada prasiklus (40%), siklus I (60%) dan siklus II (77,15%) dengan peningkatan tersebut maka penelitian dihentikan karena telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan 75%

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the high order thinking skills in the Social Studies subject for grade IV students in the 2014/2015 academic year throught the use of the problem solving method. This was a classroom action research (CAR) study employing the model by Kemmis and MC. Taggart involving research subjects who were Grade IV students of SD Karangggondang with total of 35 students and research object was the high order thinking skills. The results of the study were as follows. 1) The Implementation of social Studies learning throught the use of thee problem solving method was capable of improving the high order thinking skills of Grade IV students of SD Karanggondang. The application of Social Studies learning throught the use of the problem solving
method was capable of improving students’ high order thinking skills, indicated by the results of the administered test. The improvement was 40% in the pre – cycle, 60% in Cycle I, and 77.15% in the Cycle II. With such improvements, the study was ended because the success indicator of 75% was achieved.
