PENGARUH DUKUNGAN SOSIAL ORANG TUA TERHADAP MOTIVASI BERPRESTASI SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dukungan sosial orang tua terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode ex-postfacto. Populasi berjumlah 197 siswa kelas V SD di Kelurahan Kutawaru Kabupaten Cilacap. Sampel sejumlah 132 siswa diambil dengan teknik area probability proportional random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa skala dukungan sosial orang tua dan skala motivasi berprestasi siswa. Validitas instrumen diuji oleh ahli materi. Daya beda aitem dihitung menggunakan rumus product moment. Reliabilitas instrumen dihitung menggunakan rumus Alpha Cronbach. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan teknik regresi linier ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial orang tua berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa kelas V SD. Dukungan sosial orang tua berpengaruh sebesar 32.1% terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa. Dibuktikan Fhitung=15.042 > Ftabel=2.44 dan R2=0.321. Persamaan regresi Motivasi Berprestasi = 55.149 + 0.873 Dukungan Emosional + 0.218Dukungan Penghargaan – 0.187 Dukungan Instrumental + 0.650 Dukungan Informatif.

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the influence of parents social support on the motivation for achievement of 5th grade elementary school students. This research uses quantitative approach with ex-post facto method. The number of population was 197students of 5th grade elementary school students in Kutawaru Village of Cilacap Regency. Samples of research of 132 students were taken by using a technique of area probability proportional random sampling. The research instruments are in a form of parents social support scale and student motivation for achievement scale. The instrument validity is checked by an expert judgment and product moment formula. Instrument reliability is calculated by using Alpha Cronbach formula. The research data is analyzed by a doubled linear regression technique. The result shows that parents social support has a positive and significance influence on motivation for achievement of 5th grade elementary school students. Fcount=15.042 > Ftable=2.44, and R2=0.321.
