PERSEPSI GURU BAHASA INDONESIA TERHADAP KEGIATAN EKSTRAKURIKULER TEATER DI SMA NEGERI SE-KOTA YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
This study aims to describe the perception of Indonesian teachers to
theater extracurricular activities at all state senior high schools in Yogyakarta.
This study is a quantitative study with descriptive approach. The
population in this study was all Indonesian teachers at senior high schools in
Yogyakarta, which has theater extracurricular. The method used for the data
retrieval in this study is a cross-sectional survey design.The data collection
technique was using a questionnaire that included 30 questions which were
prepared based on Likert scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive
statistical techniques in the form of descriptive and frequency distribution.
The result shows that the mean score obtained by respondents is 90 or
as much as 75%. The mean score is included in the category of good
perception. Indonesian teacher's perception to the theater extracurricular
activities at all state senior high schools in Yogyakarta was reviewed based
on six indicators, which are knowledge, interest, appreciation, attitude,
motivation, and expectation. The average result obtained on the knowledge
indicator is 74.5%, on interest indicator is 72%, on appreciation indicator is
77%, on attitude indicator is 78%, on motivation indicator is 73%, and on
expectation indicator is 74.5%. All average result of those indicators is
categorized as good. Therefore, it can be concluded that the perception of

school in Yogyakarta is good. Due to there is the similarity between the
material of theater extracurricular activities and the material of drama in
Indonesian subject, made Indonesian teachers give the positive score and
supports to the theater extracurricular activities in their school.
