PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS PUISI MENGGUNAKAN STRATEGI 3W2H PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 3 SALAM

Abstract


This study aimed to improve the learning of poetry writing through the
3W2H strategy for Grade VII students off SMP Negeri 3 Salam.  
This was a classroom action research (CAR) study. The research subjects
were the students of Grade VII D of SMP Negeri 3 Salam. The research
implementation procedure consisted of two cycles. The data were collected
through observations, questionnaires, tests, field notes, student assignment
documents, and learning activity documentation. The data collection instruments
included assessment guidelines, field note sheets, questionnaire sheets, and
learning outcome test sheets. The data analysis techniques were quantitative and
qualitative data analysis techniques.  
The results of the study showed that the use of the 3W2H strategy was
capable of improving poetry writing skills. The improvement of the results or
products was indicated by the comparison of the mean score of the students’
poetry writing skills in each cycle. Their mean score in the pre-action stage was
53.5. It improved to 74.68 in Cycle I and to 80.63 in Cycle II.
