KEEFEKTIFAN STRATEGI BRAINSTORM SHEET (LEMBAR GAGAS) DALAM KEMAMPUAN MENULIS NARASI SUGESTIF SISWA KELAS XI SMK NEGERI 2 SEWON
Abstract
This research aims to determine, are there any differences in suggestive
narrative writing skills significantly between the students using the brainstorm
sheets strategy and without the brainstorm sheet strategy. This study also aims to
determine, are the brainstorm sheets strategy effectively to be used in teaching
suggestive narrative writing or not. The brainstorm sheet strategy chosen to direct
and facilitate the students in their writing study.
This research used a quasi-experimental methods. The research design
used pretest-posttest control groups design. The research population was student
of grade XI of SMK Negeri 2 Sewon. Determination of the sample study with the
simple random sampling technique. Based on these techniques obtained the
students of grade XI of 1st
Textile as a control group and the students of grade XI
of 2nd
Multimedia as the experimental group. The tests could be pretest and
posttest. The exercise in this research is a suggestive narrative writing test. The
results of this testing used the SPSS 16.0 program. The data analysis technique
that was used in this research is t-test with the significance level of 5%.
The results showed that there are differences in narrative writing skills
significantly between the students who received learning activities using the
brainstorm sheet strategy by the students who get learning activities without using
brainstorm sheet strategy. The significant difference was shown by the results of t-
test analysis in the postest data of the ability in suggestive narrative writing in the
control group and the experimental group was showed that thitung -12.096 with
56 df and p = 0,000 (p <0,05). Moreover, these results also indicated that the
brainstorm sheets strategy could be effectively used in teaching suggestive
narrative writing of the students of grade XI in SMK Negeri 2 Sewon. The
effectiveness of the brainstorm sheets strategy can be seen from the t-test pretest
and posttest in the experimental group obtained thitung -10.363 with 30 df and p =
0,000 (p <0,05) and there is a mean score increasing in the experimental group is
6.7741 bigger than the mean score increasing of the control group was 1,037.
