Abstrak

 

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas pembelajaran metode penemuan terbimbing ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII, menguji efektivitas pembelajaran metode konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII, dan menguji efektivitas pembelajaran metode penemuan terbimbing jika dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 10 Magelang tahun pelajaran 2017/2018, dengan sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan metode penemuan terbimbing dan kelas VII C sebagai kelas kontrol yang menerapkan metode konvensional. Data hasil penelitian diolah menggunakan uji One Sample T-Test dan uji Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Metode penemuan terbimbing efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII; (2) Metode konvensional efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII; (3) Metode penemuan terbimbing lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VII.

THE EFECTIVENESS OF THE TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS OF THE MATHEMATICS BY GUIDED DISCOVERY METHOD BASED ON THE MATHEMATICAL REPRESENTATION SKILL OF THE 7TH GRADE STUDENTS

 

Abstract

 

The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of learning guided discovery method based on the mathematical representation skill of the 7th grade students, examine the effectiveness of learning of conventional method based on the mathematical representation skill of the 7th grade students, and examine the effectiveness of learning guided discovery method compared with conventional method based on the mathematical representation skill of the 7th grade students. This research is a quasi-experiment research with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research is all students of the 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Magelang, with the sample of research is the students of VII A class was selected as an experimental class by using guided discovery method and VII C class was selected as control class by using conventional method. Based on hypothesis testing used the significance level of 5% can be concluded that (1) Guided discovery method is effective based on the mathematical representation skill of the 7th grade students;

 

(2)   The conventional method is effective based on the mathematical representation skill of the 7th grade students; (3) Guided discovery method is more effective than conventional method based on the mathematical representation skill of the 7th grade students.
