A REVIEW ON MARIE LUISE KASCHNITZ’S “LATERNEN” THROUGH ROLAND BARTHES’ THE FIVE SEMIOTIC CODES

Abstract


 

 This study aims to describe the meaning of life, Marie Luise Kaschnitz Laternen papers obtained by using analysis of five code semiotik Roland Barthes. This research uses the semiotic approach. The data of this research in the form of words, phrases and sentences in Laternen containing 5 code semiotik. The data collected by employing the techniques of reading and note-taking. The instrument of this research is the human instrument. The validity of the data was obtained through semantic validity and expert judgement validity. The reliability used intrarater and interrater. The results of the research are as follow there are 51 lexias in this story. There are 54 hermeneutic codes, 19 semic codes, 39 symbolic codes, 8 proairetic codes and 12 referential codes. Lantern here can be interpreted as an expectation of the whole people of Germany to a better life. The hope symbolized by the light of a lantern.
