Abstract

puncak pertama semakin naik.
absorbansi.

Abstract
The aims of this research are 1) to synthesize graphene oxide of pencil 2B material using the
electrolysis method that is combined with magnetic field of solenoid, 2) to know the impact of the
solenoid to the synthesis of graphene oxide using electrolysis method, and 3) to know the impact of
variation of solenoid number of turn toward the spectrum of graphene oxide optic absorbance
obtained from pencil 2B material that is synthesized using electrolysis method. This research was
done by synthesizing the material of graphene oxide using electrolysis method that was combined with
magnetic field of solenoid. The combinations of solenoid used in this process were solenoid with the
total number of turn of 500, 1000 and 1500. Solution electrolyte used were H2SO4 0,5 M and KOH
30%. The electrodes used were graphite stick of pencil 2B as anode and platinum as the cathode. The
product of the electrolysis method was filtered using vacuum filtration pump to produce graphite
oxide. Then, graphite oxide went through the next processes to produce graphene oxide. The
processes included dispersion in DMF solution, ultrasonification, and centrifuge. The examination of
graphene oxide characterization was done using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of this
research show that: 1) the material of graphene oxide is successfully synthesized using electrolysis
method characterized by UV-Vis spectrophotometer examination, 2) the impact of solenoid toward
graphene oxide synthesis causes heat that can increase the electrolysis temperature where it can
accelerate the exfoliation of graphene layers of graphite stick, and 3) the result of UV-Vis using
graphene oxide as the sample shows that the greater the number of turn the greater the absorbance
absolute proportion in the first peak. Thus, it shows that the combination of magnetic field of solenoid
not only influences the temperature on the process of electrolyzing but also affects the absorbance
proportion.
