PROSES REGULASI EMOSI REMAJA PELAKU SELF INJURY

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perilaku self injury pada remaja. Berawal dari hasil observasi di salah satu SMA di Jawa Barat meunjukkan 3 dari 36 siswa terindikasi melakukan self injury. Self injury berhubungan dengan regulasi emosi yang dimiliki remaja, dikarenakan respon emosional seseorang dapat membawa dirinya ke arah yang salah dan emosi yang dirasakan tidak sesuai dengan situasi. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui proses regulasi emosi pada remaja pelaku self injury. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode studi kasus. Subjek dipillih secara purposif yang berjumlah 2 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara dan observasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi data, yaitu triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proses regulasi emosi dari subjek IM dan II. Proses regulasi emosi yang dimulai dengan pemilihan situasi pada subjek sampai pada proses terakhir yaitu perubahan respon subjek untuk memutuskan melakukan self injury dengan menyayat penggelangan tangannya dan merasa puas.

Abstract
This research is based on self-injury behavior in adolescents. This starts from the observations in one of the high school in West Java that 3 of 36 students are indicated doing self-injury. Self-injury is related with emotional regulation that adolescences have. It caused by an emotional response that can lead to the wrong direction and emotions that are not appropriate for the situation. Therefore, researcher have an aim to know the process of emotional regulation in adolescents with self-injury. This research use a qualitative approach with case study method. The subjects were selected purposively that consist of two person. Data were collected by an interview and observation. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data display and conclusion. The validity was tested by using data triangulation technique that is source triangulation and method triangulation. he result shows the emotional regulation process of IM and II. The process of emotional regulation that begins with the selection of the situation on the subject to the last process of change the subject response to decide to do self injury by straching their handwrists and feel satisfied.
