THE EFFECTIVINESS OF PHOTOS IN THE LEARNING OF GERMAN WRITING OF THE X1 GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 1 OF SEDAYU OF BANTUL REGENCY

Abstract
This research is aimed to determine (1) the differences of learning achievement writing skills German language the students of grade X1 SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu of Bantul Regency, between the taught using photos the taught using conventional teaching methods, and (2) the effectiviness of photos in the learning of German writing of the X1 grade students of SMA Negeri 1 of Sedayu of Bantul Regency. This research is a quasi experimental with pre and post-test control group design. The subjects of the research were 150 students of grade XI SMA Negeri 1 of Sedayu of Bantul Regency. The sampling technique was random sampling. Based on the random sampling, the experimental group was the X1 MIA( 32 students) and the control group was the X1 MIA 3 (29 students ). Analysis of the data using t-test. The result of this research shows that the value of tcounted 3,049, which is greater than the value of ttable 2.003 on the level of significance α = 0,05 and db 59. Therefore, it can be concluded that, there is a significance difference achievement in the learning of German writing among the students of class X1 SMA Negeri 1 of Sedayu of Bantul Regency between the taught using foto and taught using conventional teaching media. Result of the groups showed that the mean of experimental group was 83,93 where as the control group was 78,36 with the effectiveness score was 8,8%.. Therefore, using foto in the learning of German writing among the students of class X1 SMA Negeri 1 of Sedayu of Bantul Regency is more effective than the learning by using conventional media.
