THE DIRECTIVE SPEECH ACTS IN PHILIPP STÖLZL’S FILM NORDWAND

Abstract


This study aimed to describe the type of directive speech acts in Philipp Stölzl’s Nordwand film and to describe the function of directive speech acts in Phillip Stölzl’s Nordwand film. Padan pragmatik method was used for data analysing. The result of this study showed (1) four type of directive speech acts between the main character and the actor companions. They were 20 data of direct literal speech acts, three data of direct non-literal speech acts, nine data of indirect literal speech acts, and a data of indirect non-literal speech acts. Four type of directive speech acts among the actor companions were 39 data of direct literal speech acts, four data of direct non-literal speech acts, seven data of indirect literal speech acts, and two data of indirect non-literal speech acts. (2) Four function of directive speech acts between the main character and the actor companions were two data of Requestives, four data of Questions, 23 data of Requirements, and four data of Advisories. Five function of directive speech acts among the actor companions were six data of Requestives, 16 data of Questions, 26 data of Requirements, a data of Prohibitives and three data Advisories.
