THE EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE GERMAN READING SKILLS OF THE 11TH IPA 1 STUDENT OF SMAN 1 MINGGIR SLEMAN THROUGH THE FISH BOWL TEHNIQUED

Abstract


This research aims to increase (1) the skill of reading Deutsche, (2) the liveliness of students on XI IPA at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman through Fish Bowl method. This research was a classroom action research.  The strategy applied was decided collaborative by researcher, teacher and the students. The subjects of the research were the students on grade XI IPA at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman that consist of 32 students. The research was divided into two series. Each series was divided based on planning, action, observation and reflection. The technique analysis data used in this research was qualitative descriptive. The data on this research were gained by class observation, questionnaire, field note and test. The result of the research showed that fish bowl method could (1) increase students’ skill in reading Deutsche on grade XI IPA at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman. The increasing of average score in Deutsche reading skill was 71,88%, before the action was 78,61 % (After  Series I) and 87,80 % (after series II), (2) the increasing of liveliness of the students in learning Deutsche was 40,63 % (before the action, 46,88% (after series I) and 66,67 % (after series II)
