Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of the two stay two stray technique in learning reading skills in German language rather than the learning with the use of conventional technique. This type of research is a quasi experiment. Sampling technique using simple random sampling. Validity of the instrument consists of content validity and construct validity. Validity is calculated by the Product Moment Correlation formula. Validity of the test results showed that from 50 questions,42 questions is valid and 8 questions disqualified. Reliability is calculated with the KR 20 formula, with a reliability coefficient of 0.933. Data was analyzed using t-test. The results showed tcount(at 3,237) is greater than ttable (at 2,000), the singifikansi level α = 0,05. Post-test results of the two class showed that the mean of the experimental class while the control class at 35,571 and 32,807 of the weight of the effectiveness of 9,07 %. It can be concluded that the use of two stay two stray technique in learning German language reading skills is more effective than learning with the use of conventional technique.
