THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COOPERATIVE LEARNING WITH NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT) TYPE IN THE GERMAN READING SKILL FOR THE STUDENTS OF CLASS XI IN SMA NEGERI 1 BOYOLALI

Abstract


This research aimed to find (1) the different of teaching of German among the students of grade XI in SMA N 1 Boyolali between those who are tought by cooperative learning method with NHT type and those by conventional method, (2) the effectiveness the use of cooperative learning method with NHT type in teaching of German reading skill among the students of class XI in SMA N 1 Boyolali. This research is a quasi- experiment. The data were collected through a pretest and a posttest. The reliability was calculated using K-R 20 formula and the coeffiecient was 0,902. The data were analyzed by means of the t-test. The result showed tobtained=4,264 > ttable=2,000 at a significance level α = 0,05 and the effectiveness weight was 10,4%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the cooperative learning method with NHT type in German reading skills is effective.
