THE EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE GERMAN SPEAKING SKILL OF GRADE XI STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI 2 OF WATES KULON PROGO THROUGH PHOTOS

Abstract


The objectives of this thesis are to increase the ability and the attitude of the student of XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 2 Wates Kulon Progo to speak German through photos. This thesis is a classroom action research. The strategy is determined colaboratively between the researcher, teacher, and student. The subject for this research is the student of XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 2 Wates Kulon Progo. The result shows that photos can increase the student of XI IPA 3 Negeri 2 Wates Kulon Progo’s ability in speaking. The increasing of positive attitude from the student can be identified from the motivation, interest, the activity of students and the enthusiastic way the student act during the German lesson. The student can be active and creative in speaking German. The student’s average score in speaking German is increasing. The increasing of this average score is up to 45,28 %, in which the score was 7,355 before any additional action, and now it is 10,685 after the additional action was conducted.
