THE GERMAN’S EMPHASIS MARKER “ DOCH” WITH ITS BAHASA INDONESIA EQUIVALENTS
Abstract
This study aimed to describe (1) the form of emphasis marker “doch” in romanTr!ume Wohnen Überall and its bahasa indonesia equivalent Mimpi Selalu Indah, (2)the function of emphasis marker “doch” in romanTr!ume Wohnen Überall and its bahasa indonesia equivalent Mimpi Selalu Indah. The type of this study was qualitative descriptive research. Data collection was taken through read-note technique. Data analysis used pragmatic-equivalent method. The result show that the form of emphasis marker “doch”divided into three categories:(1) it was equal with phatic words in Bahasa Indonesia kan, and –lah. (2) it was equal with another form like yang, lagipula, saja, tentu, tentu saja, nyatanya, juga, sama sekali, memang, begitu, dan juga demikian. (3) it weren’t translated (zero). The functions ofemphasis marker “doch”were (1) Affirmation and invitation to agree, (2) Strengthening through a known memory, (3) The contradiction which implies the opposite of perception, (4) Reinforce prompt.
