THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MEDIA FLASH CARD IN THE TEACHING OF GERMAN VOCABULARY IN SMA NEGERI I PAKEM SLEMAN

Abstract


The objective of this research is to find out (1) differences achievement in the learning of German vocabulary among the students of class XI SMA Negeri I Pakem Sleman between the taught using Flash Card media and taught using conventional teaching media, (2) the effectiveness of Flash Card media in the learning of German vocabulary among the students of class XI SMA Negeri I Pakem Sleman. This research is a quasi experimental with pre and post-test control group design. The subjects of the research were 129 students of grade XI SMA Negeri I Pakem Sleman. The sampling technique was random sampling. Based on the random sampling, the control group was the XI IPS 2 (32 students) and the experimental group was the XI IPS 1 (32 students). Analysis of the data using t-test. The result of this research shows that the value of tcounted 4,665, which is greater than the value of ttable 2.000 on the level of significance α = 0,05 and db 62. Therefore, it can be concluded that, there is a significance differenceachievement in the learning of German vocabulary among the students of class XI SMA Negeri I Pakem Sleman between the taught using Flash Card media and taught using conventional teaching media. Result of the groups showed that the mean of experimental group was 31,19 whereas the control group was 28,94 with the effectiveness score was 9,4%. Therefore, using Flash Card media in the learning of German vocabulary among the students of class XI SMA Negeri I Pakem Sleman is more effective than the learning by using conventional media.
