THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MEDIA OF “BRETTSPIEL M I T EREIGNISKARTEN” IN THE LEARNING OF READING IN GERMAN AMONG THE STUDENTS OF CLASS XI SMAN 1 SLEMAN
Abstract
This study aimed to determine: (1) differences achievement in the learning of reading in German among thestudents of class XI SMAN 1 Sleman between the taught using “Brettspiel mit Ereigniskarten” media and taught using conventional media, (2) the effectiveness of “Brettspiel mit Ereigniskarten” in the learning of reading in German among the students of class XI SMAN 1 Sleman.This research is a quasi experimental. This study has two variables: the “Brettspiel mit Ereigniskarten” media as independent variables and reading skills as the dependent variable. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Sleman, the entire population in class XI students totaling 195 learners. The sampling technique using simple random sampling. Obtained from sampling XI IPS 3 as the control class and class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class. The data obtained in the study of German language reading skills scores of students in the pre-test and post-test. The validity of the instrument using content validity and construct validity. The validity of the formula is calculated by Pearson Product Moment. Reliability is calculated with the formula KR-20. Analysis of the data in this study using t-test.Based on the results of t-test analysis of the data shows that tobtained greater than ttable(3.514> 2.004) with significance level α = 0.05. This means that there is a difference in learning achievement German reading skills between the experimental class and the control class. The average value of the post-test experimental class was26,2692 higher than the average value of the post-test control class is 24,5000. The weight of the effectiveness of 8,27%, so it can be concluded that “Brettspiel mit Ereigniskarten” media in the learning of reading in German.
