THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ANIMATION VIDEO IN THE LEARNING OF LISTENING SKILL IN GERMAN AMONG THE STUDENTS OF GRADE X OF MIA SMA NEGERI 1 SEDAYU BANTUL
Abstract
This research was aimed to find out: (1) the differences in learning achievement in German listening skill among the students of class X of MIA SMA NEGERI 1 Sedayu Bantul between the students who are taught using animation video and the students who are taught using conventional media, (2) the effectiveness of animation video in the learning of German listening skill among the students of class X of MIA SMA NEGERI 1 Sedayu Bantul. This research is a quasi experimental. This research was conducted at SMA NEGERI 1 Sedayu Bantul. The subjects of this research were all the students of class X, in which there are 127 students. The data collecting technique in this research used simple random sampling. Based on the results of sampling, the class of X MIA 4 (31 students) was experimental class and the class of X MIA 2 (32 students) was the control class. The data were obtained from the score of the pre-test and post-test of German language listening skills. Based on the results of the research, the data shows that tobtained was greater than ttable (2,688 > 2,000) with significance level α = 0.05. This means that there is a difference in the learning achievement of German listening skills between the experimental class and the control class. The average value of the post-test experimental class was 8,0323 higher than the average value of the post-test control class which is 7,5031. The weight of the effectiveness is 8,13%, so it can be concluded that animation video is effective in the learning of German listening skill.
