THE INFLUENCE OF VOCABULARY AND GRAMMAR MASTERY TOWARDS GERMAN SPEAKING SKILL OF GRADE XI STUDENTS AT SMA N 1 MINGGIR SLEMAN

Abstract


This research aimed to find (1) the influence of vocabulary mastery toward German speaking skill of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman, (2) the influence of grammar mastery toward German speaking skill of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman, and (3) the influence of vocabulary and grammar mastery toward German speaking skill of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Minggir Sleman. This research is a ex post facto. The data were collected through tests. The data were analyzed by means of the doubleregression.. The result of the research showed that the regressionline is Ŷ = 0,291 + 0,104 X1 + 0,438 X2. It means (1) The vocabulary mastery has significance influence towardgerman speaking skill (tobteined = 6,323 > ttable=2,042), (2) The grammar mastery has significanceinfluence toward german speaking skill (tobteined =9,877 > t table =2,042), and (3) The vocabulary andgrammar mastery has significance influence toward german speaking skill (fobteined =57,716 > f table=3,340) with the effectiveness weight was 80,5%.
