PHILOLOGY STUDY AND MORAL VALUES IN THE MANUSCRIPT OF SWARANING ASÊPI

Abstract


This study contains seven research objectives. The aims of this research are to, describe the manuscript inventory of Swaraning Asêpi , study the manuscript description of fSwaraning Asêpi , make text transcription, make text transliteration, make edits text, create translation text, and scrutinizing the moral values presented in the manuscript of Swaraning Asêpi. This research includes the kind of research description and modern philology research. Descriptive study is a method used to create description or describe Swaraning Asêpi  text objectively and systematically. On the other hand, the type of philological research was used to examine the ins and outs of the manuscript of Swaraning Asêpi  from all aspects. Sources of research data is manuscript of Swaraning Asêpi  stored in the library of Dewantara Kirti Griya. The data were collected through the steps of philological research like, inventorying the text, describing the text, transcription the text, transliterating the text, edits the text,  translating the text, and analyzing the content of the text. Data analysis in this research was done with 4 steps, data reduction, classification of data, display dataa, and interpretation. Semantic validity and also Intrarrater and interrater reliabilities were used in this study. This results of this study were described as follows. There are two copies of the manuscript of Swaraning Asêpi, but one that became the object of research that was stored in the library of Dewantara Kirti Griya Yogyakarta. The circumstances of the manuscript and the text were almost destroyed, but the text is still readable clearly. Diplomatic transcription is done by making transfers of the same letter. Standart transliteration is done by making rewrite by changing the letter into Latin letters according to the common spelling. The default edits found five edited words that were marked by a critical apparatus. The translation text is analyzed by employing literal translation method, content translation, and free translation. There are three points of the moral values presented in the manuscript Swaraning Asêpi, 1) the relations of human and God; 2) the relations of human to human; and 3) the relation of human to themselves.
