TRADITIONAL CEREMONY OF RUWATAN RAMBUT GEMBEL AT MARON VILLAGE GARUNG SUBDISTRICT WONOSOBO REGENCY

Abstract

This study aims to explain the origins of the traditional ceremony of ruwatan rambut gembel at Maron village Garung subdistrict Wonosobo regency. This study explain the meaning of traditional ceremony of ruwatan rambut gembel.

This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection’s methods those are used in this study were observational methods and participate in-depth interviews. This study’s instrument is human instrument which is helped by handy came, digital camera and stationery. Data analysis thecnuiqe that is used is inductive analysis thecnique. The way to validate the data use triangulation sources and methods.

The result of the study are: (1) The history of traditional ceremony of ruwatan rambut gembel, that describe Kyai Kolodete as the main character of traditional ceremony of ruwatan rambut gembel, people believed that children with rambut gembel should be prayed so they can lived nicely; (2) The tradition’s procession is divided into two parts: (a) preparation: collecting children with rambut gembel and make offerings  (b) implementation: opening, core event, and closing; (3) the symbolic meaning of traditional ceremony of ruwatan rambut gembel is to express our gratitude to God and the blessings that marrying media community supporters tradition has always given the health, peace, blessings and easily get a fortune in their lifes; (4) the benefits of the traditional supports citizens are: (a) the spiritual benefits, (b) economic benefits, (c) social benefits.
