Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kualitas BSE serta Non-BSE fisika, selanjutnya mendeskripsikan perbedaan kualitasnya berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria yang diambil dari Science Textbook Rating System khususnya pada aspek fisik buku, pendekatan instruksional dan bantuan untuk guru. Desain penelitian menggunakan analisis konten dengan pendekatan evaluatif yang bersifat komparatif. Subjek penelitan adalah buku fisika SMA meliputi BSE dan Non-BSE terbitan swasta. Instrumen penelitian merujuk pada instrumen karya Collette & Chiappetta yaitu Science Textbook Rating System yang dimodifikasi oleh Jumanto disertai dengan deskripsi setiap kriteria dan pengubahan yang diperlukan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Chi Kuadrat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan STRS memenuhi kriteria untuk mendeskripsikan kualitas BSE dan Non-BSE. Hasil uji Chi Kuadrat membuktikan tidak ada perbedaan kualitas signifikan dari subjek yang diteliti. Hal ini dilihat dari perhitungan Chi Kuadrat lebih kecil daripada Chi Kuadrat pada tabel. Akan tetapi diperlukan sedikit perbaikan pada aspek-aspek tertentu dari setiap subjek penelitian.

Abstract This research is aimed to recognize the differences between the Physic’s Electronic School Books and the Non-elecrtronic School Books in the aspect of quality, then to describe them refers to the Science Textbook-Rating System criteria especially in the in the aspects of physical books, instructional approaches, and assistance for the teachers. The design of this research used the content analysis in qualitative descriptive way the the comparative approaches The subject of this research were one BSE book and three non-BSE books published by the prepatory.The research instruments referred to the work of Collete & Chiappetta namely the Science Textbook Rating System modified by Jumanto completed with the description of each criteria and the transformation that needed. The data analysis was done with the chi-square test. The result showed that the STRS’ instruments accomplished the criteria to describe the quality of the BSE and Non-BSE’s textbook. The result of the Chi-square test verified that there was no difference in the aspects of quality between the subjects reviewed. It could be seen from the result of Chi-square test of each criteria that were smaller than the value of Chi-square in the table. Nevertheless, it took slightly improved in certain aspects in every subject of the study.
