Abstract


Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out (1) reasoning ability improvement different among class X high school students who followed learning with conventional approach and metacognitive approach, (2) a more effective approach between metacognitive and conventional approach in Simple Harmonic Motion learning to improve reasoning ability of class X high school students. This research is an experimental research (quasi experiment) with pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed: (1) there is a difference reasoning abilty improvement between students class X high school who followed learning with the conventional approach and metacognitive approach with significance value is 0.022, (2) metacognitive approach more effective than conventional approach in Simple Harmonic Motion learning to improve reasoning ability of class X high school students with standard gain value of each approach 0.49 and 0.35.
