THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SONGS IN THE TEACHING OF THE GERMAN VOCABULLARY AMONG THE STUDENTS OF GRADE XI IN SMA NEGERI 5 YOGYAKARTA

Abstract


This research aimed to find (1) the different of the teaching of German among the students of grade XI in SMA N 5 Yogyakarta between those who are tought by songand those by conventional media, (2) the effectiveness of songs in the teaching of the German vocabullary among the students of grade XI in SMA N 5 Yogyakarta. This research is a quasi-experiment. The data were collected through a pretest and a posttest. The data were analyzed by means of the t-test. The result showed tobtained=2,911>ttable=2,000 at a significance level α = 0,05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the song in vocabullary is more effective than the conventional media. Post-test result of both groups showed that the mean of the experimental group ist at 85,62 >mean of the control group at 78,81 and the effectiveness weight was 9,3%
