THE EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE GERMAN WRITING SKILL OF 11TH GRADE STUDENTS USING BILD

Abstract


This study aims to improve writing skill in German and learners’ activity for the 11th grade students of SMA N 1 Sedayu, Bantul using the application of the Bild. The type of this study is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles of research. Each cycle consists of four phases: planning, action, observation, and feedback. In this study, the strategy was determined collaboratively between the researcher and her research partners, namely the teachers and students. The subjects are nineteen students in the 11th grade of SMA N 1 Sedayu, Bantul. The data in this study were obtained through interviews, observation, questionnaires, field notes, writing skillstest in German and documentation. The data was analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis. The result of this study indicates that the Bild can improve writing skill in German for the 11th grade students of SMA N 1 Sedayu Bantul. The improvement of the average grades of the students’ German writing skill reaches 41.6%. In addition to the success of the product, there is also the success of the process in form of the learners’ activity improvement the reaches 58,98%.
