THE MORAL REALIZATION OF ERICH KÄSTNER’S KINDERROMAN EMIL UND DIE DETEKTIVE

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe, (1) moral realization contained in the story of Emil und die Detective and, (2) Moral in the story of Emil und die Detektive by Erich Kästner. This research uses an objective approach. This research data in the form of words, phrases or sentences that indicate the existence of moral message form values. The source of this research is the story of Emil und die Detektive by Erich Kästner published by Cecilie Dressler Verlag, Hamburg in 1994 and consists of 137 pages. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data were collected by reading and note techniques. The validity of the data was obtained through the semantic validity and in consultation with experts (expert judgment). The reliability of the data was attained through the intrarater and interrater reliability. The research results showed the story of Emil und die Detective conceive good and bad things who related to the moral form. (1) The study showed that Moral form is divided into three namely (a) moral form concerning human relationship with God,that is grateful, (b) moral form concerning human relationship with self that is positive thinking, negative thinking, responsibility, courageous, and optimistic. (C) moral manifestations of human relationships with others is caring, manners, counsel, love, always grateful, cooperation, praise, stubborn, arrogant, rude, and lying. (2) Moral in the Emil und die Detektive has two categories; through direct present and indirect present of moral form values. The moral form is dominated through direct present.
