PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MELALUI METODE THINK PAIR AND SHARE PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 2 DEPOK YOGYAKARTA

Abstrak
Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi melalui metode Think Pair and Share pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Depok. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research). Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP N 2 Depok yang berjumlah 12 siswa putra dan 18 siswa putri. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala kemampuan komunikasi dengan bentuk skala likert. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa metode Think Pair and Share dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa kelas VII SMP 2 Depok. Hal tersebut dibuktikan berdasarkan hasil pre-test diketahui rata-rata pencapaian test kemampuan komunikasi sebesar 41,8 (50%). Pada pelaksanaan post test I pencapaian test kemampuan komunikasi sebesar 48,9 (58%). Pada pelaksanaan pre test dan post test I, peningkatan pencapaian kemampuan komunikasi terjadi peningkatan sebesar 7,1 (8%). Pencapaian pelaksanaan post test II hasil pencapaian kemampuan komunikasi sebesar 64,8 (77%). Berdasarkan pelaksanaan pre test hingga post test II terjadi peningkatan rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi sebesar 23 (27% ).

Research conducted aims to improve communication skills through methods Think Pair and Share in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Depok. This study uses a classroom action research (classroom action research). The subjects of this study were students of class VII SMP N 2 Depok amounting to 12 boys and 18 female student. The research instrument with communication capabilities using the scale Likert scale form. Analysis of the data used in this research is quantitative descriptive data analysis. Based on the results of research and discussion, we concluded that the method Think Pair and Share can improve communication skills of students of class VII SMP 2 Depok. This is evidenced by the results of the pre-test known to the average achievement test communication skills by 41.8 (50%). On the implementation of the first post test achievement test communication capability of 48.9 (58%). On the implementation of pre-test and post-test first, improving communication skills attainment increased by 7.1 (8%). Achievement of the implementation of the post-test II's results amounted to 64.8 communication skills (77%). Based on the implementation of the pre-test to post-test II occurred an average increase communication skills by 23 (27%).
