Abstract

The purpose of this tool is to apply the design results, know the work method and implementation of sensors from the "MEDCA" BMI (Body Mass Index) and BMR (Basal Metabolism Rate) measuring tools with Coin Acceptor as the requirement for use. A manufacture of BMI (Body Mass Index) and BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) measuring tool consists of several stages: needs identification, needs analysis, circuit diagram block, system design, toolmaking step, program flow diagram, tool testing and data retrieval. The manufacture of BMI and BMR measurement system using basic material wood and aluminum profile for light, strong, and easy to install or remove. This tool uses Arduino Nano microcontroller (AT-Mega 328), digital scale modification and IC HX711 as body mass measurement, ultrasonic SRF04 as body height measurement, push button as plus and minus input age instrument and coin acceptor as entry point of 500 rupiah silver coin for the requirement of its usage. The test results show that the design stage of the tool can be implemented and used properly. Coin acceptor can be used in accordance with its function as the entry point of similar coin with the one in the bracket. The average error of body mass measurement is 0.37%, and at the height measurement is 0.2%. The result of BMI status and BMR calculation are founded no deviation with the formula. The measured objects are 15 people with different conditions. The average cause of the errors is the movement of the object weighed in this case is human.
