Abstract

This research has the purpose of describing the implementation process of the TAI learning method to improve the activity and learning outcomes of the engineering course of the antenna system class XI TAV B SMK N 2 Klaten. This research is a type of classroom action research using TAI learning method to improve students' activity and learning outcomes. This classroom action research is conducted in 4 stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The variables studied were the activity and the students' learning outcomes on the antenna system engineering subjects. The liveliness aspect was observed through observations using observation sheets that were carried out during the learning activities. Aspects of learning outcomes are observed through written test results conducted at each end of the cycle. Data were analyzed descriptively with simple calculation. The results showed: (1) the average percentage of completeness of activity aspects increased by 17.61% from cycle I with the average completeness of 41.77% increased to 59.38% in cycle II; (2) the average aspects of learning outcomes increased by 51.52% from cycle I with an average of 42.42% and cycle II of 93.94%. Based on the results obtained, the students' ability to increase both from the aspect of activity and learning outcomes, so that the use of learning methods TAI as an effort to improve the activity and student learning outcomes succeed.
